Cleaning, Care & Maintenance

Wire:

Our Schulte wire closet systems have a specially formulated, baked-on epoxy coating which provides a durable, easy-gliding finish. Cleaning is seldom needed as the open decking doesn’t accumulate dust the way solid surfaces can; spills can be washed off with a non-abrasive household cleaner. Shoe scuffs on closet poles can be removed using a cloth dampened with a spot of mineral spirits.

Melamine:

Proper care of your new closets will help you get the most out of them. Everyday cleaning should be done with mild soap and warm water or a mild household all-purpose spray cleaner. Use only enough moisture to get the job done; excessive moisture or soaking can cause the wood to swell and ultimately damage your closet. For scuffs that are resistant to water based cleaners, a cloth dampened with a spot of mineral spirits will often do the trick; however, the continued use of solvent cleaners is not recommended. Never use acidic or alkaline cleaners, abrasive cleaners, or bleach.

Should a piece of an Orderly Quarters organizational system ever be significantly damaged, it may be possible to simply replace the damaged part. Give us a call and we’d be happy to explore possible remedies.
